Abstract
This paper is intended to, show, between 1845 and 1945, as some textbooks reproduced essentialist ideas formalized in the mid-nineteenth century by the Liberal and Conservative parties. The document aims to examine from the textbooks, the various ways in which the ruling elite represent various cultural groups in Colombia during the period specified above, through the identification of the attributes set for access to exclusive social group to which were referred to the speeches considered desirable by the managers of such symbolic aspects.
