Abstract
En este documento se exponen los resultados de una investigación exploratoria de campo efectuada entre un grupo de pequeñas y medianas (pymes) exportadoras de la provincia de Cartago, Costa Rica con el objetivo determinar si los factores denominados como habilidades gerenciales, estrategias de mercadotecnia, condiciones financieras y otros factores, incidieron positivamente o limitaron su desempeño exportador.
Los resultados muestran una relación positiva entre algunas de las variables específicas y el desempeño exportador de estas pymes, a partir de lo cual se esbozan algunas recomendaciones de política de apoyo nacional.
ABSTRACT
This document shows the results of an investigative field research done among a group of exporting small and mediumsized enterprises (SMEs) of Cartago province in Costa Rica, aimed at establishing whether or not factors such as managerial capabilities, marketing strategies, financial conditions or any other factors weighed positively or negatively in their exporting performance.
Results show a positive relationship among some of these specific variables and the exporting performance of these SMEs, from which some suggestions to the national exporting support policy can be sketched.
