Los Estudios Sociales de la Ciencia y la Tecnología, también denominados Estudios (CTS) se constituyen como una disciplina que hace énfasis en su carácter social, ofrecen una visión de ambas como actividades sociales, lo que garantiza su análisis como componentes de la cultura, y la investigación de los factores que entorpecen o propician el desenvolvimiento de la creatividad científica. El proceso de universalización de la Enseñanza Superior Cubana y en especial la médica coloca a la universidad en el centro de los problemas sociales, esta circunstancia hace que la actividad de investigación se convierta en una necesidad de primer orden en el quehacer universitario cubano. Atendiendo a esta coyuntura el Vicedecanato de Investigaciones y Postgrado de la Facultad de Tecnologías de la Salud se encuentra enfrascado en la ejecución de un proyecto de investigación - acción que tiene como punto de partida el bajo nivel de participación de los docentes en la investigación y como objetivo general incorporar a los mismos de manera sistemática y sostenida a la actividad de investigación a través de una estrategia que permita la trasformación y desarrollo de la cultura científica del claustro
The Social Studies of the Science and the Technology, also denominated Studies (CTS) they are constituted like a discipline that makes emphasis in its social character, offers a vision of both as social activities, what guarantees its analysis like components of the culture, and the investigation of the factors that hinder or they propitiate the development of the scientific creativity.
