Abstract
Oil palm ( Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) holds a very strategic role in Indonesia economic. Plants that have reached the economical age of 25 years need to be replanted by replacing to qualified oil palm seedling. The qulified seedling are obtained through the proper fertilization. The combination of NPK fertilizer and organic material of oil palm empty fruit bunches (OPEFB) which has been given a cellulolytic microbial consortium can provide sufficient nutrients for the growth of oil palm seedlings. . The aim of the study was to determine the effect of giving a combination of OPEFB organic material, cellulolytic microbial consortium and NPK fertilizer againts the growth of oil palm seedling ( Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) at main nursery . This research experiments are organized according to the design of the full random (RAL) non integral factorial. First treatment (M 1 ) 100% NPK, second treatment (M 2 ) OPEFB compost, third treatment (M 3 ) 50% NPK + OPEFB compost, fourth treatment (M 4 ) 50% NPK + OPEFB + Cellulolytic microbial consortium, fifth treatment (M 5 ) OPEFB + Cellulolytic microbial consortium. The use of combination of NPK fertilizer + OPEFB compost and OPEFB + cellulolytic microbial consortium produced the growth that was not much different to NPK fertilizer givement on whole parameters. The giving of OPEFB compost and OPEFB + cellulolytic microbial consortium without NPK fertilizer can not provide the optimal plant growth for oil palm seedlings in parameters of plant height, hump diameter, total leaf area, root crown ratio and seed dry weight.
