Abstract
On the basis of economic and institutional analysis of economic activity and the theory of intrinsic motivation proposed general scheme of individual motivation of economic activities, with the establishment of the major economic and psychological factors in its formation. In accordance with the proposed scheme analyzes the main motivation definition of economic activity, positioning the construct in economic theory. Established effects of psychological characteristics of the individual: self-esteem and level of claims on the effectiveness of economic activity. Representation of the motivation of economic activity detailed as a means of dealing with the uncertainty of the environment.
