Abstract
This essay deals with the intellectual and human figure of the Andalusian thinker Adolfo Sánchez Vázquez, born in Algeciras, but exiled after the Spanish Civil War for his activism at the Republican side. We, thus, try to retrieve the value of a man so attached to his own ideals so as to be compelled to quit his homeland as a consequence of his commitment. In this work we put these two aspects together: his personal lifestyle is set in parallel to his intellectual career. We traverse the most relevant facts of his biography and the most remarkable features of his Marxist-oriented political thought. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Nuestro ensayo aborda la figura intelectual y humana del pensador andaluz, de origen algecireño, Adolfo Sánchez Vázquez, exiliado en México tras la Guerra Civil por su participación activa en el bando republicano. Es un intento, pues, de recuperar la valía de un hombre comprometido con sus ideas hasta el punto de tener que abandonar su tierra natal como fruto de ese compromiso. En nuestro trabajo, aunamos esos dos aspectos: su trayectoria vital en paralelo con su periplo intelectual. Exponemos los aspectos más relevantes de su biografía, así como los rasgos más destacables de su pensamiento político de orientación marxista.
