Over the past decade, quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP) has gained traction within the pharmaceutical industry as a modeling method to quantitatively and mechanistically describe diseases and the complexity of drug action. The preclinical QSP working group, within the Translational and ADME Sciences Leadership Group (TA LG), as part of the International Consortium for Innovation and Quality in Pharmaceutical Development (IQ), was formed in 2016 to bring together representatives across the pharmaceutical industry with objectives to share knowledge, assess the current landscape of QSP modeling in the preclinical space of research and development, and discuss/align on best practices.
