Piraterie et mécanismes psychosociologiques de défense dans le Golfe de Guinée

Abstract

The present article is the result of a deep examination of the problem based on the phenomenon of maritime piracy which extends more and more in countries found in the Gulf of Guinea. Through a polemological approach, this research shows that the development of piracy in this zone is explained by the stakes in the area, and by a multitude of factors, among others, a more pronounced contrast between the abundance of natural resources (petrol, gas, etc.), and the extreme poverty of local populations. The analysis brings some psychosociological mechanisms of defense against the phenomenon of piracy. It insists notably on the necessity of African leaders to humanize the governance relative to the management of the Golf’s natural resources.
