We have unambiguously characterized the deexcitation of the 228.5-keV T1/2=4.7āˆ’s isomer in 80Y as an M3 transition. This result determines, in conjunction with other experimental data, the spin and parity of the 228.5-keV isomer and the 80Y ground state as 1āˆ’ and 4āˆ’, respectively.
