The paper addresses the basic technical terms in the geography of natural disasters,which not only describe the phenomena, but also include its theoretical and methodologicalfoundations. The meanings of these terms are discussed from the viewpoint ofgeography, which considers natural disasters as an integral part of the environment/landscape/space. Unification in the context of geography is even more important becauseof the interdisciplinary approach to natural disasters and significant differences betweenthe terminology of the participating sciences.
