Serum zinc, copper, magnesium, protein and enzyme superoxide dismutase were estimated in 50 cases of psoriasis and 40 normal healthy controls. Serum zinc, copper, magnesium were estimated using atomic absorption spectrophotometer (Shimadzu 646). Proteins were estimated by colorimetric methods and enzyme superoxide dismutase was estimated by Marklund and Marklund method. Serum zinc, magnesium, total proteins and albumin were significantly decreased whereas, serum copper and serum SOD were significantly increased. Serum globulin was increased but this was not significant. These changes have been attributed to multifactorial causes.
