germans: 250 years in russia

Abstract

The article analyses evolutionary way of Germans in Russia from late XVII century to early 1990s, describes their first efforts to adapt in Russia, their integration into Russian society. Due to labour, endevour and orderliness, Germans transformed the region, where they served Russia. They became the real patriots, defending Russia both in the war of 1812 and in the wars that followed. They participated in revolutionary fights and in Civil War. They were volunteers for the struggle against fascism. Instinct with patriotism to their native land, they restored it devastated cities after war. Their selfless labour is exemplary. They have been with Russia for two and a half centuries.
