Abstract
The Johannine portrayal of the Paraclete-Spirit gives us a fuller understanding of the identity, role and function of the Holy Spi- rit. The Paraclete-Spirit in the Johannine Gospel works to glorify Jesus, and make the Father known. Because of the presence of the Paraclete-Spirit Jesus becomes omnipresent, is in his fol- lowers and is permanently with them. Through the Paraclete- Spirit believers are again united with Jesus as Jesus is united with the Father.
