A painting on wood unequivocally attributable to the Master of Castelsardo recently appeared on the antiques market. This anonymous, Late Gothic-trained artist, who painted altarpieces for Sardinia, Corsica and Barcelona, was active in the territories of the Crown of Aragon between the late fifteenth and early sixteenth century. This paper illustrates a preliminary study of this painting and the data that has emerged from it restoration.
