Abstract
Surveys have been carried out on White Bellied Sea Eagle (Haliaeetus leucogaster) from 2006 to 2016 along the106 km costal stretch of Raigad district in the state ofMaharashtra. The selections of favoured habitat and nesting locations of White Bellied Sea Eagle have been recorded. While carrying out the surveys a decline in the number of sea eagle nests was noticed in the northern part of Raigad. Reasons behind this decline have been clearly laid out and presented. Plans for habitat restoration have also been outlined.
